Earlier today, we hit 50 subscribers to this email newsletter.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for being one of my first 50!

To some, 50 doesn’t sound like a lot.

To me, it blows my mind.

I’m used to hosting private dinners of 10 people, so 50 people is the same as 5 dinner parties.

Wow.

Losing Everything

As you likely already know, 14 years ago, I lost everything.

(If this is news to you, the gory details are here.)

Houses, money, investors, business, everything.

All gone.

I then developed a stress-related illness called Erythema Nodosum. I couldn’t walk for 3 months.

Along the way, I also mounted over $300K of losses.

Terrified to Lose it All Again

Although the illness lasted only 3 months, and the debt lasted only 7 years, little did I know the emotional wound would slice the deepest.

Here I stand, 14 years later, only now starting to realize how scared I’ve been to lose it all again.

“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”

~ Carl Jung

Subconsciously, I’ve avoided building a big business to protect myself.

If I stay small, the fall won’t hurt as badly, you know?

(I’ll go more into this on Monday’s newsletter, stay tuned.)

I’ve Kept My Head Down

So I’ve really held back from sharing too much publicly.

I have a 40,000-word book I’ve never published.

I rarely email my list of followers and clients (we have over 5,000).

Only now am I starting to poke my head up again - hence starting this newsletter.

Thank You

So thank you for being one of my first 50 subscribers.

You’re a part of my healing, a part of my comeback.

I feel silly saying it’s taken me 14 years to realize the ways I’ve held myself back.

But it’s true.

Ultimately, I take comfort knowing it’s all in God’s plan.

Maybe being a “first 50” doesn’t mean all that much now, but I hope it will mean alot one day.

Thank you for being with me.

P.S. if you feel called to share my newsletter, simply post this to your socials: https://highperformanceentrepreneur.beehiiv.com/.

Every subscriber counts to me. THANK YOU.
